Recovery and getting back on track

Recovery is an important part of your hospital procedure. It’s essential to take care of yourself and ease back into your daily routine. Once you’ve left the hospital, your ongoing recovery may include physiotherapy and follow-up appointments with specialists and doctors to monitor your progress. Your specialist should have outlined what to expect from your recovery and who to contact in the event you don’t feel well. It’s important you don’t push yourself too soon and hinder the progress you made in hospital.

We have a range of Health Management Programs that may be able to help you with your recovery (for eligible members).

When it’s recommended by your doctors and specialists, you may need to use additional health services to assist with your recovery. That’s where your Extras cover will come in handy so you can claim on these services.

Recognise signs and symptoms if your recovery is not progressing as it should and, if necessary, your nib health cover will help you cover the cost of an emergency ambulance.
