Health Care at Home

• Chemotherapy treatment in a comfortable, familiar and private environment

• Minimised risk of any infections you may catch during hospital visits.

To be eligible for Chemo at Home, you must:

• Be 18 years or over

• Have an Australian resident Hospital cover which includes chemotherapy, and have served all waiting periods

• Require IV chemotherapy, subcutaneous chemotherapy, or intramuscular chemotherapy for cancer (MBS item 13950*)

• Be suitable to complete chemo at home as clinically assessed by your specialist

• Meet all home facility requirements assessed by the service provider

• Have been admitted to hospital for inpatient treatment before transitioning

• Be enrolled into the service, arranged by the treating team prior to discharge

• Reside in a location serviced by one of our At Home providers.

*@Home services are currently limited to IV chemotherapy, subcutaneous chemotherapy, and intramuscular chemotherapy at this time. These treatments are deemed safe outside of a clinical setting.

To be eligible for Haemodialysis at Home, you must:   

• Be 18 years or over  

• Have continuously held hospital cover for 12 months, which includes dialysis, and have served all waiting periods

• Be suitable to complete dialysis at home as clinically assessed by your treating specialist  

• Have commenced inpatient treatment in a hospital setting before transition to dialysis at home

• Reside in a location serviced by Dialysis Australia

• Meet all home facility requirements assessed by Dialysis Australia.

Haemodialysis at Home is delivered in partnership with Dialysis Australia.

• More control over your treatment

• Time spent building optimum knee strength and function needed for everyday activities

• A reduction in time spent in inpatient services or travelling and waiting for physiotherapy treatment post-discharge

• Treatment in a comfortable, familiar, and private environment.

To be eligible for Orthopaedic Rehab at Home, you must:  

• Be 18 years or over  

• Be an nib Australian resident, AAMI, Qantas, Apia, Suncorp, ING, Priceline, Real Insurance, Australian Seniors, GU Health (residents) or Cigna member

• Have continuously held hospital cover which includes non-restricted inpatient rehabilitation treatment and served waiting periods

• Have recently undergone a single hip or knee replacement surgery, or a revision or partial hip or knee replacement, but have not yet commenced their rehab in hospital

• Enroll into the service, arranged by the treating team prior to discharge

• Commence rehabilitation within clinically appropriate timeframes (3 business days) following discharge from hospital to be considered eligible for rehab at home

• Be eligible for rehab at home, that must determined by your specialist and service provider as being hospital substitution treatment, and clinically appropriate

• Reside in a location serviced by one of our service providers.

Bilateral joints are not covered.

Orthopaedic Rehab at Home is delivered in partnership with Better Rehab, InterHealthcare, Life Ready Mobile, Remedy Health Care and Amplar Health.

• Reduce time and money spent travelling, and waiting for, treatment at the hospital

• Minimise the risk of any infections you may catch during your hospital visits

• Improve your support and connection with the clinical staff with one-on-one appointments

• Give you more control over your treatment

• Receive treatment in a comfortable, familiar, and private environment

• Cause less disruption to you and your family's daily lives.

To be eligible for IV Infusions at Home, you must:

• Be 18 years or over

• Reside in a location serviced by one of our service providers

• Have continuously held nib (including GU Health, Qantas, ING, Priceline, Apia, AAMI, Suncorp, Real Insurance and Australian Seniors) hospital cover for 12 months and have served all waiting periods

• Be suitable to complete IV treatment at home as clinically assessed by your treating specialist

• Meet all home facility requirements assessed by the service provider

• Have been admitted to hospital for inpatient treatment before transitioning to an approved at home service.

IV Infusions at Home is delivered in partnership with Vitalis and Pop-Up Health.

• Be 18 years or over

• Reside in a location serviced by one of our service providers

• Be an nib Australian resident, Qantas, AAMI, Apia, Suncorp, ING, Priceline, Real Insurance, Australian Seniors, GU Health (residents) or Cigna member

• Have continuously held hospital cover which includes non-restricted for the
  equivalent inpatient treatment and served waiting periods

• Be suitable to complete wound care treatment at home as clinically assessed by your treating specialist

• Meet all home facility requirements assessed by the service provider

• Have been admitted to hospital for inpatient treatment before transitioning.
