Discover how the Heart Foundation, in partnership with nib foundation, can help you reduce your risk and protect your heart.

Move more

Aim to do at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity most days of the week. Find a local Heart Foundation Walking Group or create your own personal walking plan.

Follow a heart-healthy eating pattern

Choose fresh, unprocessed foods rich in whole grains, fibre, and healthy fats - and low in salt, added sugar and unhealthy fats. Explore The Check Up’s nutrition guides and healthy recipes to stay motivated and feel your best.

Maintain a healthy weight

Follow a heart healthy eating pattern and be stay physically active. Explore Heart Foundation’s heart healthy recipes and consider signing up for their four week dinner plan to make nutritious meals easy and enjoyable. 

Be smoke-free

If you smoke tobacco or use e-cigarettes, kicking the habit can make a big difference to your health. Some of our Extras cover include benefits for GP-prescribed nicotine replacement therapies to help manage cravings and make quitting easier.

Avoid or drink less alcohol

Opt for alcohol-free alternatives and reduce overall intake for better heart health.
