What does Extras cover include?

At nib, we understand that everyone's health needs are unique. That's why we offer a range of Extras covers so you can choose one that’s right for you and your family. However, there are some core inclusions that we pay benefits for across most of our Extras policies, such as:

Emergency Ambulance cover

Most of our nib Extras covers offer unlimited emergency ambulance. Meaning if you require an emergency ambulance, we will cover 100% of the cost and you won’t have to pay any excess1. Preventative dental

Keep smiling and save money with nib Extras dental coverage. If you have an nib Extras policy, you can get 100% back on dental check-ups, opens in a new tab, including exams, cleanings, and fluoride treatments at participating providers.2 Just check your annual and service limits in your member account before booking.

General dental and optical

Need a filling, basic extraction or X-ray on your teeth? That’s where general dental comes in.

By visiting a dentist in our First Choice network, opens in a new tab – a network of trusted health professionals that provide their services to nib members for a lower cost – to get agreed rates on common dental treatments. Visiting your optometrist? nib Extras pays benefits for prescription glasses and contact lenses. Ready to book? Visit the nib First Choice network for local optometrists across the country who have promised to deliver quality care and value for money, including Specsavers where you can get 2 pairs of designer glasses for $199 (no gap!)3.

Physiotherapy
