This is a city of contrasts. Ancient temples rest amid bustling streets, the ordered chaos evened out with floating markets and a wellness scene that can zen even the most uptight traveller.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the thriving capital of the Siamese Kingdom. Today, the ancient city offers history buffs an incredible glimpse into Thailand's golden age.
Thailand’s cultural capital is nestled in the rolling hills of the country’s North. The walled old city contains over 300 temples, with surrounding hills offering hill tribe villages and adventure.

Getting around by motorbike or scooter is common in Thailand. But it’s also one of the most common ways travellers find themselves in an accident (or hospital). Only ride if you’re licensed. Helmets are mandatory—and could save your life.
Avoid tap water. Eat where locals eat and stick to bottled drinks.
Monsoon season can mean flash floods. Lightweight rain jackets and quick-dry clothes are essential.
