How long have you been working in travel industry and what type of roles have you held?

I started as a Travel Expert with STA Travel at the beginning of 2017, I became a Store Manager soon after commencing with STA which I loved.

I have experience in Corporate Travel as well as Communications and Business Development.

What sets nib apart from others in the industry?

I am incredibly impressed with the attitude towards health and wellbeing. This is something super important to me and to see it put first is amazing. Many of us are trying to live healthier lives and it’s wonderful to see nib supporting this and leading by example.

What’s been your most memorable experience from your career in the travel industry?

Being awarded STA Travel Australian Store Manager two years in a row. I was honoured to be a significant part of the success story of two high performing stores and developing some exceptionally talented agents.

How do you stay up to date on the latest travel trends and destinations?

I am not too proud to say, I love a Travel Tik Tok, but also, KarryOn, social media, Travel Daily and lengthy discussions with other travel loving friends and family.

What do you think is the key to making a great travel itinerary?

Give travellers real life tips and tricks, tell them about a cool little speakeasy in NYC, the best coffee spot in London, draw maps for them and share your own personal photos. Make it human.

What's the craziest travel story you've ever heard from a client?

I had a client book the ultimate bucket list trip, his girlfriend dumped him, so he sold their apartment and with his earnings booked a mega trip that included, a safari in South Africa, a whirlwind Euro tour, Antarctica, the Galapagos, he climbed Kilimanjaro and finished off at Octoberfest. He met a girl there followed her to Canada where I believe he still lives.

What's the most underrated travel destination in your opinion?

Everyone flocks to Capri or Ischia when travelling through Naples or the Amalfi Coast and both are spectacular but jump on the ferry with less tourists and head to Procida instead, amazing food, beautiful people and views like nowhere else.

If you could travel with 3 famous people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

Taylor Swift for her Private Jet and she can provide the soundtrack.

Elton John for the entertainment, disposable cash and a table at the world’s finest restaurants.

Lewis Hamilton for entry to every F1 race around the globe.

Have you ever had a travel mishap or funny story that you'd like to share?

I was fortunate enough to win a famil which included the Reading Music Festival and took my cousin with me. Despite being well into our 30’s, we agreed to take on the trip which is usually aimed at a younger market as it was pitched to me as a fabulous festival for all ages, in the beautiful English Countryside and we would be set up in the glamping area of the festival with access to a beauty tent, private bars and lush grounds. We arrived to a field of teenagers everywhere, mud as far as the eye could see, leaky tents, a piece of foam to sleep on and a soggy sleeping bag each. We lasted a night, then fled back to London to catch a West End show and enjoy a few gins at a beautiful garden pub. Much more our style.

My favourite holiday was...

Travelling through Italy with two of my cousins to see the little Calabrian village where our Grandparents were born and raised. It felt like we had gone back in time and set the tone for an amazing European adventure.
