Claiming your Extras benefits has never been easier with so many options available.

Swipe your nib card

Claiming on the spot at your provider is the easiest way to claim. If your provider has this service available, just hand over your nib card after your treatment and they’ll swipe it through their terminal. The amount nib can pay will be automatically calculated so you can just pay the gap.

Claim online

nib Online Claiming lets you claim on your Extras 24/7 and your benefits will be paid into your nominated bank account (you can change this in nib Online Services).

Simply snap and submit your receipt and we will do the rest. Plus, we’ll pay Extras benefits like dental and chiro straight into your account within 5 working days.

By mail - Complete an nib Claim Form, attach all of your original receipts and mail them to nib health funds, Locked Bag 2010, Newcastle NSW 2300.

When you claim with an nib Claim Form, be sure to sign it and attach the original prescription if you are claiming for optical services.

Attach receipts and accounts that are:

  • Original documents (not copies)
  • Written in English (helps us process them faster)
  • On the provider's official stationery or have the provider's official stamp
  • Fully itemised, showing all the services listed individually

If you haven’t paid the account, we will give you a cheque made out to your provider. Whatever remains unpaid from the account (i.e. what we didn’t pay) is what you need to pay to your provider.
