Why do my teeth hurt? 10 reasons why
Why your teeth might be hurting and what to do about it
After a recent review of our agreement with Pacific Smiles Dental Centres, we have changed the way we pay for dental check-ups at these centres. Previously, customers could receive 100% back on the cost of certain preventative dental treatments* at Pacific Smiles.
From 1 April 2017, we will bring benefits in line with other dental services covered by your health cover. There will be an out-of-pocket expense for the difference between your dental benefit and the amount Pacific Smiles charges, just like you would experience at other dentists.
If you visit a Pacific Smiles Dental Centre between now and 31 March 2017 you will still receive 100% back on preventative dental treatment items provided you have annual dental limits remaining.
You can continue to enjoy 100% back on preventative dental services at any of our nib Dental Centres. Check out the nib Dental website to find your nearest centre, or call 1300 345 300.
We've been working with Pacific Smiles to ensure our customers can enjoy even better value for money for future dental care. From April 1 2017, our new agreement with Pacific Smiles will mean you'll pay less for most dental treatments at any Pacific Smiles Dental Centre.
First Choice is nib's growing network of preferred healthcare partners, including dentists. By choosing one of our partner dentists, you could pay 15% less on average for many common dental treatments when compared with the average dental practice.
But rest assured, this doesn't change what you can claim back if your usual dentist isn't part of our network. You'll still have the same choice of healthcare providers you always did, but now nib can help you access a range of partner dentists who may charge you less. Now that's great news.

* 100% back applies only to dental items 011, 012, 013, 111, 114 and 121.
