Add or remove a dependant from your policy

To add or remove a dependant from your policy, contact us directly.

Only the policyholder or spouse with authority can remove someone from your cover.

• If you already have family cover, contact us to add your baby to your policy. Make sure to add your baby within 24 months of their birth to ensure they receive the same cover entitlements as the longest-serving parent. 

• If you have a singles or couples policy, you'll need to upgrade to family or single parent cover within two months of your baby's birth to avoid waiting periods. If you’re currently serving a waiting period, your child will serve the same waiting period, ending on the same date as yours.

Here’s what you need to know:

Adopted children: 

• You must provide supporting documents like court orders or adoption papers.

• For singles or couples cover, add them within two months from when they came into your care.

• For family cover, add them within two years from their birth date or the date they came into your care. 

Foster children: 

• You must provide supporting documents such as court orders, statutory declarations or confirmation from Centrelink or a foster organisation.

• Add them from the date you notify us.

• They may need to serve waiting periods if they weren’t covered previously or if their coverage has been upgraded.
