Using your Overseas Student Health Cover

Your OSHC helps pay for medical treatment you may need during your studies in Australia, including accidents, injuries or illnesses.

What does my OSHC include?

Doctors and specialists

Your health cover will help you pay for appointments with doctors and medical specialists. In Australia, your local doctor is called a GP or General Practitioner.

Hospital

You have the choice of being admitted to a public or private hospital. Private hospitals allow you to avoid long public hospital waiting lists and you may be able to choose your preferred specialist.

Emergency ambulance

We will pay for emergency and medically necessary ambulance services and transport provided by a state or territory ambulance service anywhere in Australia.

Prescription medication

Your health cover will help you pay for some prescription medications. Prescription medication is medicine that a doctor has prescribed to treat an illness.

And more...

As well as medical services such as pathology, radiology, prosthesis and MRIs. Always make sure you check what you’re covered for before going to hospital.
