What treatments are included?

DentalPass offers agreed rates† on preventative dental services through our network of participating dental practitioners. Unlike Extras cover, which pays benefits towards a wide range of dental treatments - DentalPass lets you access certain treatments at pre-agreed prices that are usually lower than the standard fee, helping you save money when you visit the dentist.

These may include treatments such as X-rays, examinations, cleaning and polishing, fluoride applications, tooth extractions, fillings, crowns, root canals, veneers, bridgework, implants and dentures.

Plus, you'll also receive $25 back on eligible dental check-ups2 - up to two per year - when you visit a dentist in our network.

Orthodontia is not included in DentalPass.

How it works

1. Join online

Join online and download the nib App to get your digital membership card. You'll also receive a physical card within two weeks.

2. Find and visit the dentist

Find and visit a participating dentist in our network near you.

3. Tap your card and save

Tap your nib card before paying at the dentist to access agreed rates - pre-approved prices that are usually lower than their standard fees. Get $25 back on eligible check-ups² up to twice a year when you visit dentists in our network.

Who should join DentalPass?

  • Are over 16
  • Don't already have Extras cover but want great value dental
  • Have a dentist in our network near you

Existing nib members can already access agreed dental rates by tapping your nib health insurance card at the dentist.

Here are some answers

¹nib First Choice providers (i.e., our network) offer competitive fees for many commonly claimed treatments and consultations. These fees are reviewed at least annually and are subject to change. Always check nib.com.au/find-a-provider before booking to see if your provider participates or simply ask your provider if they are part of nib's network at the time of booking. Providers occasionally leave the nib First Choice network so it's important to check before booking to avoid disappointment. Annual limits and T&Cs apply.

²Eligible treatments during a check-up include oral exams (item numbers 011, 012, and 013 only). Payment of benefits is subject to nib's Fund Rules and Policy Booklet, the membership being activated and annual limits.

³Price is based on a Single starting their cover on 11 August 2026. It includes the Australian Government Rebate for eligible members aged under 65 with a taxable income up to the relevant threshold, along with 4% direct debit discount.
