PALM support nurse

If you have questions or concerns about your health, our PALM support nurse service is here to help, free of charge. Just give your nib policy number when you call, with no out-of-pocket expenses.

Please call 000 if you have a health emergency.

Our nurses are your first contact for health issues. They can:

Talk to you about any non-urgent health concerns you have
Assess your symptoms
Provide immediate medical advice
Book a telehealth appointment if needed.

We can also connect you with an interpreter or have a support person call the nurse on your behalf.

PALM nurse is available from:

Open: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm AEST
Closed: Saturday, Sunday and national public holidays.

Nurses cannot issue prescriptions, medical certificates or emergency help. For these services you can use our GP telehealth service.

Telehealth and medical certificates

We’ve partnered with hub.health to give you access to a range of health practitioners, allowing you to enjoy private and secure appointments from anywhere, for free.

Services provided include:

Medical certificates*
Treatments
Specialists referrals, as recommended by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner
Pathology and radiology requests
General medical advice.

Telehealth is available from 8am – 8pm.

*The provision of a medical certificate is not guaranteed and will depend on the information provided during consultation and whether the medical doctor or nurse practitioner deems it to be appropriate.
