Our 2020 Community Report is out now!

A series of unprecedented challenges, from the severe drought and bushfires in Australia to the global COVID-19 pandemic, has brought much devastation to people and our communities. However, it’s also reinforced the importance of our commitment to helping people and communities lives healthier lives.

We’ve had the pleasure of partnering with some fantastic organisations, including Lifeline Australia, Clearhead, NSW Rural Doctors Network and Lifeline Aotearoa, who are playing important roles in the COVID-19 community response across Australia and New Zealand, after committing $1 million to the cause.

Throughout the year, we’ve also given more than $2.1 million to support community health and wellbeing initiatives across Australia, New Zealand and around the world. This includes grants dedicated to supporting health prevention and promotion initiatives to provide over 740,000 people with the tools and technology to make positive health and lifestyle behaviour changes.

We’re also incredibly proud to showcase our first Aboriginal Health partnerships under our new $1 million commitment, helping to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This partnership was made possible thanks to a donation made to nib foundation in the form of unclaimed dividends from nib Group’s shareholder base, which has now reached over $1.8 million.

So far, we’ve partnered with Clontarf and the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, two wonderful charities that understand the importance of incorporating family, tradition and culture into all aspects of their programs. They target key areas such as education, health and employment which are important to helping improve the gap in health and life expectancy outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
