OzHarvest Newcastle has reached a major milestone, delivering the equivalent of over five million meals in the Hunter using more than 1.7 million kilograms of rescued food.

This milestone has been achieved over an incredible eight-year period since our partnership first began, thanks to the generous support of food donors and businesses across the Hunter.

With over five million tonnes of food ending up in landfill every year, costing our nation $20 billion annually, OzHarvest and their 3,5000 food donors - including Woolworths, local supermarkets and cafes, restaurants, schools and hotels - are playing a vital role in addressing the issue.

OzHarvest Newcastle delivers on average 6,500 kilograms of nutritious food every week so that the Hunter region's most vulnerable residents can enjoy a hot meal together.

We're proud to have helped increase the capacity of OzHarvest in the Hunter region to meet an ever-growing demand for food relief and look forward to continuing to help improve the health and wellbeing of those most at risk in our community.

OzHarvest relies on donations to keep their wheels moving. Every $1 donated allows OzHarvest to deliver the equivalent of two meals to people in need. Visit ozharvest.org, opens in a new tab to donate.
