We've teamed up with the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation to provide $100,000 in funding to support farmers impacted by the ongoing drought in the Hunter region.

The funding will be provided over a two-year period to Upper Hunter Community Services, a community-based organisation focused on providing a range of practical services and support to people in the Upper Hunter.

Those in drought-affected areas of the Hunter both on farm and in the wider local community, will be able to access support services, financial support and engage in local community building activities during what can only be described as an extremely tough period.

Whether it be helping to pay car registration, a grocery bill or to host a number of fun community events for the whole family to help foster social connections - this funding will allow Upper Hunter Community Services to provide holistic support for farmers and their families to help alleviate any physical, financial and mental health pressures they may be facing.

It's the first time we've partnered with Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation as we come together to support a common cause, recognising that co-operative initiatives are required to deliver the level of scale necessary to address the significant social issues caused by this drought
