What is an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI)?

An Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) is a 16-digit number that allows doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers to identify you. With it, you are able to get e-scripts for medication.  

How do I apply for one? 

To apply for a free IHI, log into your myGov account using your passport number. You can also try applying with the request an Individual Healthcare Identifier form.
