nib's accident cover is intended to cover the immediate necessary treatment required as the result of an accident. An accident, in relation to nib Hospital cover, is an event leading to bodily injury caused solely and directly by violent, accidental, external and visible means and which is not the result of any other cause.
If you're in an accident and need to go to hospital, you and the attending doctor must complete an Accident Form (available from nib). If you need further treatment in hospital as an inpatient, you’ll be covered as long as you have documented proof that you have sought treatment at a hospital emergency department within 24 hours of the accident.
Not every health cover has the Accidental Injury Benefit. Please call us on 13 16 42 for more information.
