We've joined forces with six other Hunter corporates to commit a total of $112,500 in funding to Upper Hunter farming communities affected by drought.
Teaming up with Hunter Corporate Collaborative (HCC), the funding will be used to implement two key initiatives, providing support and services assisting those most affected by drought conditions in the Upper Hunter local government areas of Singleton and Muswellbrook.
Upper Hunter Community Services (UHCS) Counselling and Laundry Facilities – UHCS will use the funding to implement a free counselling support service for individuals and families where mental health and wellbeing are being impacted by drought. In addition, it allows those affected to attend to their laundry needs in a social setting.
Singleton Neighbourhood Centre (SNC) – SNC will use the funding to provide a series of workshops focused on training in basic business and marketing operations so that participants can gain knowledge and practical skills to diversify their income outside of their farm income.
With over 80% of NSW still in drought, statistics say it takes nearly three years to recover from a drought, which is why we’ve teamed up with NFP Connect, Beyond Bank Australia Foundation, Glencore Coal Assets Australia, Greater Charitable Foundation, Hunter Water, Port Waratah Coal Services and Sparke Helmore Lawyers to help our local farming community and deliver long-term impacts.
