Claim more often on everyday Extras
With the nib Loyalty Bonus, you can claim more often on everyday Extras like dental, optical, physio, chiro and more.
If you’re an active nib customer with selected Hospital and Extras cover, you’ll get the nib Loyalty Bonus - as long as you’ve been a customer for 12 months or longer.
How it works
Each year, you’ll automatically earn your nib Loyalty Bonus on your nib Loyalty Bonus Anniversary Date. To check your anniversary date, refer to your annual nib Loyalty Bonus statement or contact nib.
Once you’ve reached your annual benefit limit on any of the everyday Extras services* provided on your nib health cover, you can use your nib Loyalty Bonus to make additional claims in a calendar year. Normal waiting periods and limitations for Extras cover apply.
Any unused nib Loyalty Bonus dollars will be rolled over on your nib Loyalty Bonus Anniversary Date and will accumulate up to the maximum amount for your level of nib health cover.
*Does not include those benefits where a service limit applies – for example, one hearing aid every five years cannot be exceeded using your nib Loyalty Bonus.
Using your nib Loyalty Bonus dollars
If you have unused nib Loyalty Bonus dollars and you’ve reached the annual benefit limit for the service, you will automatically use your nib Loyalty Bonus when making a claim using nib Point of Service Claiming, or when you claim via
nib Online Services.
If you’re mailing your claim to us then just complete the nib Loyalty Bonus section of your nib Claim Form.
Keeping track of your nib Loyalty Bonus
You can check your nib Loyalty Bonus online at any time with nib Online Services.
Each year we’ll send you a statement of your nib Loyalty Bonus balance or you can review your balance by calling
13 14 63.
Changes to your policy
From a singles policy to a couples or family policy- the nib Loyalty Bonus opening balance for your new policy will be the total of you and your partner’s unused nib Loyalty Bonus.
The annual amount of nib Loyalty Bonus for a couple or family policy will apply from the date of the policy change up to the maximum amount for your nib health cover.
From a couples or family policy to a singles policy- you’ll retain the balance of nib Loyalty Bonus accumulated (if you were the person who applied for the nib policy). However, you can choose to give any person on your policy half or all of the nib Loyalty Bonus balance, if they join another nib policy within two months from the date of the policy change, and their nib policy is effective from the date they were removed from your cover.
Changing your cover
Change to an nib health cover with a different amount of nib Loyalty Bonus, and you’ll retain any unused amounts you have accumulated.
On your next nib Loyalty Bonus Anniversary Date you will be rewarded with your annual nib Loyalty Bonus based on your old cover (amount accumulated up to the date you changed to your new cover) and your new cover (amount accumulated from the date you changed). This is provided you do not exceed the maximum bonus for each cover.
From a Hospital Only cover to a selected Hospital and Extras cover- you’ll be rewarded with the annual amount of your nib Loyalty Bonus applicable to your new cover, on your next nib Loyalty Bonus Anniversary Date.
From an Extras Only or Ambulance Only cover to a selected Hospital and Extras cover- you’ll be rewarded with the amount of nib Loyalty Bonus applicable to your new cover, 12 months from the date you joined the new cover.
Downgrading to an Extras Only or Ambulance Only cover- you’ll lose any unused nib Loyalty Bonus accumulated. If you rejoin one of the selected Hospital and Extras covers in the future, you will receive your nib Loyalty Bonus 12 months from the date you joined the new cover.
Things to remember
- You don’t get the nib Loyalty Bonus if you suspend your policy - only active nib customers will accumulate an nib Loyalty Bonus
- If you cancel your nib policy at anytime you’ll forfeit any unused nib Loyalty Bonus
- Your nib Loyalty Bonus is not redeemable for cash
- You can use your nib Loyalty Bonus any time during the life of the program. If in the future there are changes to the program, or the program ends, we will notify you well in advance.
